what we do

Quintessential Printing specializes in quality digital reproduction of your fine art, high-quality printing of your photographs and photo restoration.

For artists: We will scan or photograph your work to produce Giclée prints with archival paper and inks, using quality Epson scanners and wide-format professional printers. We strive to reproduce your work as closely as possible.

For photographers: We have the ability to print your images up to 44 in wide on state of the art Epson printers, using archival papers and inks. We work with you to ensure that your images are reproduced accurately.

For everyone: We can scan slides and create prints, restore and print old photos, scan and print their kids’ artwork.

At Quintessential Printing we handle your art and photography with care, respecting your work. Each piece receives “hands on” attention to insure that the scan, digital files and prints will meet your expectations.

Giclée is a term coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printers.  The name originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the late 1980’s.
The word Giclée has since come to represent a printing process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks (pigment-based) and archival substrates to print on large format printers.  These printers use the CMYK color process that may have multiple cartridges for variations of each color, based on the CcMmYK color model (such as light magenta and lights cyan inks in addition to regular magenta and cyan).  This increases the apparent resolution and color gamut and allows smoother gradient transitions.

A wide variety of substrates is available including various textures and finishes such as matte or luster photo paper, watercolor paper, cotton canvas or metallic paper.

Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, photographs or computer generated art for resale while preserving the original.

I have been using Quintessential since they opened the doors. Their attention to detail is extrordinary.
